So sometimes I am a little behind on things! I live off Rain-checks because I go to the store mid week because of our schedules and many of the sale/coupon items are no longer available.
But I recently knew between my sister, myself and a few other ladies we would be getting a large quantity of the same items. So I decided to make sure the store had enough of those products so I did a major Pre-Order for the first time today. Please read how My First Major Pre-order went.
So because I am learning everyday about coupons like you it never crossed my mind that when I get rain-checks for items I could always call in and pre-order the products as well.
Some Rain-checks only last 30 days at Kroger, while rain-checks at Food Lion has a longer duration.
Today I went to Kroger and they were out of the Reach Toothbrushes, Floss and Hungry Jack Hashbrowns so I went to customer service to put in an order and than I realized perhaps I should ask for the rain-check to lock in that price for the next 30 days and since I was in a hurry and didn’t exactly have the time to put in an order I could go home and call later tonight and place my order.
Pre-order is great when you know you need a large amount of a particular item and you have coupons expiring soon while rain-checks are great to lock in that price for 30 days and wait till you can go again to pick up the items.
With pre-orders you are set to a particular time frame to pick up your products.
So today my new learning tip is think about getting a rain-check and then placing a pre-order to maximize your savings.
Here is a hint for an item I actually pre-ordered and have a rain-check for and that is POM. We have 2 rain-checks for the $10/10 and between my sisters coupons, mine and ones given from a friend we have about 20 and the coupon makes them FREE unfortunately the coupons expire soon at least the ones we want to use!
